Deccans commit suicide

Deccans commit suicide…..I’m talking about the cricketing suicide. This is exactly what was seen on 13th May in a match between Deccan Chargers and Daredevils. Gilchrist must have met his worst nightmare to hand over the victory. A breathtaking and the most theatrical match of IPL season was witnessed by Durban.

Deccans won toss and decided to bowl first. With a joint effort of Dilshan, De Villiers and Karthik Delhi Daredevils set a target of 174 runs in 20 overs.

Gilchrist showed his miraculous batting with 5 sixes and 5 fours to score 66 runs of just 33 balls. Symonds was in a good mood and scored 41 of just 22 balls. 149/3 in 16.5 overs and requiring 25 runs with 19 balls remaining and 7 wickets in hand. The drama started for Deccans and they started losing wickets till the innings distorted scoring 12 runs for last 7 wickets. Team got all out for 161 runs and lost the match with 12 runs.

Amit Mishra, Dirk Nannes, Rajat Bhatia and Virender Sehwag are all smiles after pulling off a tight win, Deccan Chargers v Delhi Daredevils, IPL, Durban, May 13, 2009 Rajat Bhatia is congratulated by Tillkaratne Dilshan and AB de Villiers, Deccan Chargers v Delhi Daredevils, IPL, Durban, May 13, 2009 Rohit Sharma isn't feeling too good after dropping a simple catch off Tillakaratne Dilshan, Deccan Chargers v Delhi Daredevils, IPL, Durban, May 13, 2009

Bet market was a little clumsy today. DD was the favourite but with just 11:10 ratio against Deccans. This startling win of Delhi put bet bazaar in a very tensed condition. Other bet was to decide who among Nannes and RP Singh would take less wickets. Nannes was a favourite with 9:2 ratio against RP Singh but RP Singh disappointed the bet bazaar players. Nannes took 1 wicket and RP zero. Other bet was to decide which team would score more runs in their last 5 overs. DC was 11:6 ahead of Daredevils but again this proved wrong with the collapse of Deccan team in final overs.

Overall a very shocking match and a big shock for the betters as well. Will be back with more exciting bets tomorrow for 2 crucial matches. Till then…..Sweet dreams !!!
